Western Australia’s beaches are world class and a must-visit keen fisherman. With waters home to schools of herring, mulloway, shovelnose and many more, you’ll be sure to snag the perfect catch.
Your day starts at the iconic Hillarys Marina. Here, you’ll jump into the airconditioned comfort of a Toyota Prado as your driver heads for the long stretches of sand that give the coast its name. Keep your eyes peeled for the locals of the area – kangaroos, emus, bobtail lizards and wedge-tailed eagles. Out to sea, you’ll spot dolphins and even seals.
Your driver will deflate the tyres and then it’s over the dunes for you. Here, you’ll settle in – bare feet in the sand, rod and drink in hand – as you watch the sun dip below the horizon.
With any luck, you’ll have a bite in no time. Post catch, you can release, or call it dinner as your driver fillets and preps your prize for cooking. With hints and help from your guide, you’ll feel like Rex Hunt in no time.
